Plants
Owing to the tropical rainforest type of climate, Assam boasts of its floral and faunal diversity along the northeastern chain of India. The state is home to 293 species of orchids- all bloomed in their natural habitat. Assam also has a wide plethora of Bamboo, Cane, Medicinal, and Endemic species that captures the attention of tourists from all over the continent.
Animals
Assam is home to some of the most endangered and rarest animals of the Himalayan species including the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, the royal Bengal tiger, the golden langur and hoolock gibbon. The state is a natural reserve of over 180 species of mammals. Assam owns five national parks and several bird sanctuaries too. Kaziranga and Manas National Parks are two of the major wildlife reserves of Assam.
